On Thursday we enjoyed a Valentine's Day Party in our classroom! The first graders have been looking forward to this special day ever since we switched our calendar to February. :) Today we were filled with extra love and lots of red, pink, and purple! Thanks to several parents who were interested in helping with our party, we were able to rotate between four different stations during our party. We rotated between crafts, math activities, eating snacks, and passing out our special valentine treats. Here is a glimpse of our special afternoon:
Kiddos received their own individual box of candy hearts to sort by color, graph, and tally. Once they found information about the candy in their box, Mrs. TerHaar helped students color mystery numbers on a 100s chart!
The kids made mustache valentine's crafts with Mrs. Mills and Mrs. Kok. Their valentine craft turned out so cute!
Mrs. Scholten and Mrs. Hellenthal read valentine subtraction story problems for the kiddos to solve. Once they finished this special activity, they played a valentine nonsense word game together!
Mrs. Spagnuolo helped at the students' favorite station: passing out valentines and eating yummy treats! I loved watching their enthusiasm as they passed out their valentines to their friends.
We had a blast at our Valentine's Day Party! It was a special day to celebrate our classroom friends and how special everyone is. Thank you for donating items, volunteering your time, and sending in valentines with your child. We had a wonderful afternoon because of your help!
