As an early thanksgiving celebration, we met with our 5th grade buddies to create a thankful turkey craft this week! The 1st and 5th graders brainstormed 5 things they were thankful for. There were several things the kids were thankful for such as family, friends, school, food, toys, cousins, pets, sports and more! Once they brainstormed their ideas, they created a thankful turkey out of construction paper and paint chips. While the kiddos worked on this craft, they talked about why they were thankful for the things they wrote down. I loved hearing the many grateful hearts in our classroom! Below you will find the other half of our classroom with their 5th grade buddy.
The 1st graders loved meeting with their 5th grade buddies on Friday. They are all very thankful for each other! Please watch for your child's thankful turkey to make its way home. Ask them what they are thankful for and why. I hope you enjoy hearing their ideas as much as I did!
