During our first week in first grade, we spent a majority of our time reviewing rules, procedures, and what it means to be a bucket filler and a good friend. On Friday we began reviewing material from kindergarten to get us started with our journey in first grade.
During our math time, we worked with partners to order numbers 1-30. We began by talking about partners and what it looks like to be a good partner. Then we moved around the classroom to begin our review. The first graders did a phenomenal job! I was so proud of their hard work, ability to work well with friends in class, and their quick recall with number identity and order.
Way to go first graders! We're off to a great start!

Next week in math we will be focusing on these math objectives:
*I can visualize numbers 1-10
*I can represent numbers 1-10
*I can add and subtract numbers within 8

What a great start to our year! Please join me in helping your child build their math foundation by reviewing addition and subtraction facts at home. Learning does not stop in the classroom. :)
