We had a blast with our Halloween celebrations on Thursday! We began our morning like a normal Thursday morning of learning. The first graders worked so hard to earn their afternoon party and parade. We began our celebration with the movie "Spookley The Square Pumpkin" (based off of the book we read in class!) during our indoor lunch recess. After recess we rotated between five fun stations where the kiddos decorated cookies, played games, and won prizes. After our party it was time to put our Halloween costumes on! The kiddos were so excited to show everyone their costume and they could not wait to travel the halls of Adams Elementary in our school parade. I loved seeing their enthusiasm and excitement for the day. We had so much fun together!
Thank you Mrs. Venema and Mrs. Barense for helping us at the cookie decorating station! The first graders enjoyed juice and a yummy pumpkin sugar cookie that they frosted and decorated on their own.
Thank you Mrs. Kok for helping us at the Spin & Graph station! The kiddos took turns spinning the spinner of Halloween pictures and graphed their results as they played. They even picked a Halloween pencil and eraser to put in their Halloween goodie bag at the end of the rotation!
At this station the first graders played a bucket toss game and earned candy for each bucket that they made! They also took turns pinning the nose on the pumpkin. Melanie was the closest to the actual nose! There were many smiles and giggles at this station. :) Thank you Mrs. Hellenthal for helping assist these games.
Thank you Mrs. DuPuis for playing this candy LRC game with us! The kiddos took turns rolling three LRC dice and passed their candy corn pieces either to the left, right, or center depending on what they rolled. At the end of the game they all earned a yummy bag of candy corn to take home!
At our final station, first graders played a math game called Scare The Ghost. With their partner they would roll to find a total and scare a ghost by covering it with a cube! They all won a glow stick to take home with them, too. Thank you Mrs. Spoelhof for helping with this game.
The kiddos would also take turns playing Ghostbuster Squirt at this station. For this game, one friend at a time would take a squirt bottle and try to knock down 10 ghosts (or plastic cups :)) as fast as they could. Thank you Mrs. Mills for helping with this wet and wild adventure!

After about an hour of rotating through stations, it was finally time to put on our costumes for the Adams Costume Parade! We had a blast getting our costumes on and walking through the halls and multipurpose room at our school. It was great to see so many parents enjoying the parade, too!
This cute group is ready for the Halloween Parade! I love their joyful spirits!
Thanks for letting me join in on the fun too, friends!
Our silly bunch! :)
Happy Halloween! I hope your night of Trick or Treating was just as much fun as our celebrations at school! Thank you again to the moms who volunteered at our party and also to the families who donated materials to help make our Halloween stations extra special. We appreciate you!
