On Monday, Mrs. Burk helped deliver a special package to our classroom! She entered our classroom to let us know that there was a package for Miss Martin's Monkeys, it was cold, and it was from... The North Pole!
In our special package was a note from Santa, a book titled "The Elf on the Shelf" and another small package that said "do not open", which we think was our own Elf on the Shelf! When we returned from recess, the elf had made his way out of the small package and was sitting on our book shelf!
As the book suggested, we voted on a name and our elf's name is Elf-A-Bet. Elf-A-Bet will be watching us every day and reporting back to Santa each night to tell him if we have been naughty or nice. The note also said that our elf may be doing silly things in our classroom. I look forward to experiencing this excitement with your child and also using these silly behaviors to inspire fun writing activities!
